The University of Samarra is committed to the highest standards of academic integrity. This policy outlines the principles all members of the university community are expected to uphold.

<h2>Core Principles</h2><p>Academic integrity means honesty, fairness, trust, respect, and responsibility in all academic and research activities. Every student, faculty member, and researcher is expected to act with integrity.</p><h2>Academic Misconduct</h2><ul><li>Plagiarism — presenting another’s work, ideas, or words as one’s own without proper attribution.</li><li>Cheating — using unauthorized materials or assistance in examinations or assignments.</li><li>Fabrication or falsification of data, results, or credentials.</li><li>Unauthorized collaboration or contract cheating.</li><li>Misuse of the platform or others’ accounts.</li></ul><h2>Research Integrity</h2><p>Research must be conducted and reported honestly, with accurate citation of sources, responsible handling of data, and disclosure of conflicts of interest. Publications must respect copyright and authorship standards.</p><h2>Prevention and Tools</h2><p>The university supports integrity through awareness, training, and the use of similarity-detection tools where appropriate. Faculty are encouraged to design assessments that promote original work.</p><h2>Consequences of Violations</h2><p>Violations are addressed according to university regulations and the rules of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Sanctions range from warnings and grade penalties to disciplinary action, in proportion to the severity of the violation and with due process.</p><h2>Reporting</h2><p>Suspected violations may be reported confidentially to the relevant college or department, which will review them fairly and impartially.</p><h2>Our Commitment</h2><p>Upholding academic integrity protects the value of our degrees and the reputation of the university, and ensures a fair learning environment for all.</p>
